Grand finale of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East and Sunsilk Mega Miss North East on 29th and 30th June

Guwahati : Mega Entertainment, north east’s largest fashion and pageant event organizer, announced the dates of the grand finale of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East and Garnier Men Mega Mister North East in a press conference held at Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba today. 

The Grand Finale of 9th Garnier Men Mega Mister North East, supported by Title Sponsor Garnier Men, Hospitality Partner Radisson Blu, Fragrance Partner Axe, Assam State Biodiversity Board and ITFT College will be held at ITA Cultural Complex, Machkhowa, on 29th June from 7 onwards. On 30thJune, 7 pm onwards, ITA Cultural Complex will host the Grand Finale of 16th Sunsilk Mega Miss North East, which has been supported by Title Sponsor Sunsilk, Hospitality Partner Radisson Blu, Assam State Biodiversity Board and ITFT College. 

The finalists have been chosen through a series of auditions held in Agartala, Itanagar, Dibrugarh, Kokrajhar and Guwahati from 1st to 11th June. Through these auditions, the pageant organizers shortlisted 50 women, who will vie for the coveted title of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East; and 50 men will compete to become the most desirable man of the region, to win the title of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East. The event has been produced by Mega Entertainment and is powered by Abhijit Singha. Speaking to the media during the press conference today, Abhijit Singha, Founder of Mega Entertainment, said, “At Mega Entertainment, we strive towards setting up an international platform for our winners where they can prepare themselves for the global fashion and glamour industry. 

Among various prizes, our winners will also get an opportunity to travel to Dubai for an exclusive photoshoot, thus giving them an opportunity to study the culture of a different land and adding to their grooming and personality development.” Speaking on the growing quality of the contestants over the years, Singha added, “It is heartening to see that our winners are making a mark in the national fashion scenario as well. Last year, three of our previous winners posed a strong competition in the Miss India pageant. 

This year as well, Mega Miss North East 2017 Mary Khyriem made it to the Top 12 of the Miss India pageant. We feel really privileged to have been a part of their journey.” Also present on the occasion were designers Dipika Yengkhom, Nitu Kachari and Akumnaro Imsong, who will design the finale collection of Mega Miss & Mister North East. Both the pageants will have five subtitles each, which will qualify the subtitle winners for direct entry into the Top 20. 

The subtitles of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East are Sunsilk Hair Hack Diva, ASBB Miss Eco, Radisson Blu Miss Hospitality, ITFT College Personality and One & Zero Miss Photogenic. For Garnier Men Mega Mister North East, the subtitles are Garnier Men Ultimate Fighter, ASBB Mister Eco, Radisson Blu Mister Hospitality, Axe Signature Wild Card winner and Chisel Dighalipukhuri Best Physique. The Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018 winner will get a prize package worth approximately Rs. 7 lakhs, including the winning crown and sash of Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2018, a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh, opportunity to become the face of Sunsilk’s print and outdoor campaigns. 

The winner of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2018 will get a prize package worth approximately Rs. 5 lakhs. It includes the official sash and trophy of Garnier Men Mega Mister North East 2018, a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh. The prize package of both the pageants also includes a round trip to Dubai, an international destination photoshoot, fitness counselling and membership at Chisel Dighalipukhuri for a year, gift hamper from Rang De Basanti Urban Dhaba, portfolio shoot by leading fashion photographer Rahul Biswas, public relations and reputation management for the reigning term from Life’s Purple and digital celebrity management from One & Zero – The Marketing Trend. Additionally, the winners will also get a scholarship for a 3-years bachelor’s degree course in Media & Entertainment at ITFT, Chandigarh and a 6-months Aviation & Hospitality course from TRIG Empowering Institute, Guwahati. This year, Mega Entertainment, as a responsible entity of the community, has joined hands with the Assam State Biodiversity Board (ASBB) to raise social awareness regarding the significance of biodiversity with the theme- Biodiversity, for posterity and prosperity. 

As a part of this initiative, awareness campaigns will be organized at various places rich in biodiversity, and the general public will be educated on the importance of preserving the same. The contestants will undergo a strict pre-judging process during their training and grooming sessions, where the female contestants will be judged on their poise, carriage, intelligence and beauty and the male contestants will be judged on their intelligence, fitness, personality and confidence. Designers Nitu Kachari and Dipika Yengkhom will be designing the gowns for the semifinal and the final rounds respectively. On the day of the Grand Finale, Mary Khyriem- Mega Miss North East 2017, and Suman Ningthoujam- Mega Mister North East 2017 will felicitate their successors at the conclusion of the pageant.
